Meet Haydn at Esterházy, where he worked

Joseph Haydn spent more than four decades working for the Esterházy court. Instead of telling his story only through text, Schloss Esterházy wanted visitors to meet the person behind the history in a way that feels natural inside a historic palace.

Visitors interact with Haydn and choose which parts of his story they want to explore. Together with Prince Nikolaus II, the digital characters bring the history of the palace and its people into contemporary museum communication.

We built a Talking Paintings character with recorded voice, designed animation and content written and approved before installation. The prepared format was the right choice because the story had to stay consistent: visitors hear the same approved content all day.

What our clients say

Dr. Pia Friedrich-MersichHead of Art Education and Deputy Head of Schlossbetrieb · Schloss Esterházy Management GmbH

When I first discovered Talking Paintings at a museum technology trade fair, I was immediately impressed. I thought something like this would be a fantastic addition to Schloss Esterházy in Eisenstadt.

Today, the composer Joseph Haydn, who worked here for 40 years, speaks directly to our visitors, and Prince Esterházy also shares the story of his eventful life with our guests.

With these digital paintings, we have taken another step towards contemporary museum communication. We sincerely thank videoreality for the great cooperation and, above all, for the uncomplicated, professional project implementation.
